OUR ROOTS

Fueled by a profound love for exceptional food and beverage, the owner’s journey from hospitality veteran to deli maverick is nothing short of inspiring. Having spent countless hours exploring deli scenes and bars around the world, a burning question ignited his culinary curiosity: Why settle for just sandwiches when you could pair them with hand-crafted cocktails?

Thus, Fancy’s Cold Cuts & Cocktails was born—a modern twist on the beloved deli experience, where quality reigns supreme and every bite tells a story. Whether you’re sidling up to the bar for a handcrafted cocktail or snagging a gourmet sandwich for takeout, you’re in for a treat. Stop by to see why Fancy’s isn’t just a deli—it’s an adventure in flavour waiting to be explored.

OUR CREW

BEHIND THE BAR

Meet Mark, the mastermind behind Fancy’s Deli. Raised in Sarnia, Ontario, Mark’s journey into hospitality started early, working everywhere from weddings to bingo halls. Bitten by the ski bum bug, he headed to Western Canada, bringing his charm to fine dining spots in the Okanagan.

His passion took him to Australia to learn from industry leaders. Back in Kelowna, he dove into the mixology scene, competing nationally and managing top Kelowna bars.

Fancy’s Deli is the culmination of over 20 years of dreaming and scheming. Now, Mark is thrilled to share his creation with you, blending his love for hospitality, quality food, and killer cocktails into something truly special.

OUR CREW

THE DELI BOSS

Meet Brent, the culinary genius behind Fancy’s Deli. Born in London, Ontario, Brent’s culinary journey began at his Grandpa’s restaurant in Northern Ontario. With a love for cooking and snowboarding, he headed West, landing a red seal apprenticeship at Big White Ski Resort, where he met Mark.

Brent’s adventures took him to various BC restaurants, but the Okanagan always called him back. After a few years, Brent shifted gears, moving to Vancouver Island for some family farming and deepening his love for quality ingredients. While working at a local deli, Mark extended an invitation to join the Fancy’s team, and Brent couldn’t resist. He moved back to the Okanagan to open up shop with his best friend, bringing his culinary passion full circle.

OUR HERITAGE

1517 WATER ST

Back before the invention of sliced bread, the first tenants of 1517 Water Street were the Ball Brothers; a crew of passionate butchers selling meat right from the place we now call home. We like to think we’re doing them proud as they watch us provide Kelowna with a quality deli experience filled with a lot of heart (and show-stopping ingredients).
